Why use it
- No translation of the disgust elicitors: The scale builds on picutres (instead of text items).
- Quick: It contains only 8 pictures and will take you around 5 minutes to complete.
How it works
- Paper and Pencil: translation of the disgust elicitors: You can print the pictures and use them as paper and pencil questionnaire. Make sure that the pictures are high quality and easy to identify for your participants. The scale was developed using an answer scale (interactive slider) ranging from 0 to 100. To print the scale on paper, you can use a line (e.g., 10 cm long) and add verbal anchors on both ends and mark the middle of the scale. When participants mark their answers on the scale, you can analyse the data by measuring the distance between the left end and participants’ mark on the line.
- Online: If you choose an online format, I suggest that you use an interactive slider (ranging from 0 to 100 with verbal anchors on both ends and a mark at the middle of the scale) for participants to provide their answers (see Figure 1).
